If you’re like most people, you probably use your phone to take pictures and videos with the shutter button. But if you’re a Samsung Galaxy phone user, that button might not work the way it used to. Samsung has released a new update for some of its Galaxy phones that changes how the shutter button works. If you have one of these phones, here’s how to move the shutter button so it still works the way you want it to:
- Open your phone’s Settings app.
- Under “General,” tap “Accessibility.”
- Under “Shutter Button,” tap “Move.”
- Drag the slider to the left until the shutter button is at its bottom position. ..
Here’s the situation: You’re trying to take a selfie with a bunch of people. In order to get everyone in the shot, you have to hold your phone in an awkward position. You can’t reach the shutter button to snap the photo. What can you do? We’ll show you how to simply move the shutter button.

First, open the camera app on your Samsung Galaxy phone.
Next, tap the gear icon in the top toolbar to open the Settings.
Scroll down and select “Shooting Methods.”
Toggle the switch on for “Floating Shutter Button.”
Now go back to the camera. You’ll see a white circle floating on the screen, this is the new shutter button. You can drag it wherever you’d like and tap it to snap a photo, just like the regular shutter button—which also still works.
This is a nifty feature for those awkward moments where you can’t quite hold the phone in the perfect position. You don’t have to reach your fingers in awkward positions to snap a photo anymore. Another one of Samsung’s many features included on Galaxy devices.
